Pre-Procedure
During the consultation, the client will be asked to fill out a consultation sheet. This documentation on her status of health and record of the procedure she will have. If she has any record of mitro valve prolapse or any medical condition that requires that she take antibiotics during any invasive procedure, such as before any dental work, she will have to come on that day with antibiotics prescribed by her doctor. Tattooing is invasive and any chance of infection has to be minimized to it's safest form. If the client desires any of the lip procedures and has a history of cold sores, fever blisters oral herpes, she must have taken her antiviral medication 7 days prior, during and after the procedure. This will help minimize the outbreaks. Her physician is also consulted.

During the Procedure
Is it painful?
Pain varies from client to client. It depends on the individual's own pain threshold. A topical anesthetic is given before and during the procedure. By the time the client feels pain, the procedure is over.

How long is the procedure?
It generally takes about one to two hours to complete each procedure. The 2nd session take about one to one and a half hours depending on how much more pigment needs to be implanted.

Post Procedure
What will I look like post procedure?
Your permanent makeup will definitely look darker and heavier than you want. There can also be some unevenness, but this is temporary. This is because of 3 things.

1. Large amounts of pigment are intentionally implanted in order to acquire enough color after the healing process. During the next 3-4 days, your makeup will go through changes of exfoliation and will peel and fade to a soft shade. It is not uncommon to go 70% lighter.

2. Immediately after tattooing, the skin goes through a process of oxidation . This is caused by wet pigments' exposure to air. This gives the work a darker appearance. It lighten as it dries into the skin. It is very important that the client follow all instructions given to insure a successful result. I always advise clients to bring sunglasses or a hat to bring to ensure privacy and anonymity

3. There is immediate swelling and tenderness thereby causing a more darker and wider appearance. This subsides within 12 hours. Apply the ointment that will be included in your post care kit. Again, patience is a virtue. Within 5-7 days, your tattoo will peel and reveal a much softer and lighter shade. You might even complain that there is not enough color. Do not make a judgment of the color until you are fully healed. believe it or not, the color comes back and you will see a much more demure version of your original tattoo.

When will I see the final result?
You will most probably see the final result after about 1 month post procedure, which includes the touchup visit. By then the skin will be all healed up and any color that is deposited, will stay in its place. Then it is possible to see what your procedure will look like.st probably see the final result.

How long will my permanent makeup last?
All tattoos fade with time and expose to the elements. It’s inevitable. Generally, your permanent makeup should last about 2-5 yrs. However, everyone has different skin and heal in differently. The darker the tattoo is, the less time it will take to fade. Your skin naturally exfoliates to regenerate new skin for protection. During this process, some pigment may slough. Using alpha hydroxy acids such as Vitamin A,C,E can strip the pigment over long use also. Swimming in salt water and chlorine water acts a bleach to fade the makeup too. The elements both natural and man-made will also determine how long the permanent makeup will stay. Continuous time exposure to the sun will not only fade the tattoo it can take it out almost completely.

What can I do to protect my permanent makeup?
During exposure to sun and wind, use a good sunscreen. I recommend an SPF of 30+ applied on the tattooed area. Avoid AHAs on and around tattooed area. I recommend applying Vaseline to treated area to create a barrier when going for a facial, swimming etc.

When should I get a touchup after all work is done?
I recommend a touchup visit when you start to see some fading and you find yourself using more makeup everyday. I hope I have answer the most important questions that you have on the art of permanent makeup. If you have any other questions, I will be happy to answer them via email. Take care and stay beautiful!!

I had my permanent makeup done before. Is it possible for you to retouch it for me? Is it the same price as a touchup?
I do many retouches of work that was not originally done by me. As long as the client is not requesting extra work such as changing the shape or any corrective work. The fee is the same as touchups of my clients who started out with me. Remember, the fee is a one time touchup fee. If there is extra work that needs to be done, it is also charged accordingly at the time of the next visit.

Is Laser Hair Removal permanent?
The LightSheer Diode Laser System is intended to effect temporary hair reduction. The LightSheer is also intended to effect stable longterm, or permanent hair reduction through selective targeting of melanin in hair follicles. Permanent hair reduction is defined as a long term stable reduction in the number of hairs regrowing after a treatment regime. The number of regrowing hairs must be stable over a time greater than the duration of the complete growth cycle of hair follicles, which varies from 4-12 monthes according to body location. Permanent hair reduction does not necessarily imply the elimination of all hairs in a treated area. For more information, please refer to the link below.
